GRANT PROVIDER
Under the Wektory Nauki Programme run by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education the Organisers are able to offer financial support to early career researchers to participate in the 3rd Core Logging School.


ELIGIBILITY
MSc students, PhD students and scientists within six years of receiving their PhD.
TYPES OF GRANTS
We offer two types of grants:
Grant A: funding covering half of the registration fee, the participant covers the remaining half of the amount, i.e. 310 EUR / 1300 PLN
Grant B: funding covering full registration fee (when awarding this grant, priority will be given to MSc and PhD students)
The organisers have limited funds, so in order to provide support to as many people as possible preference will be given to applicants who will choose grant A. Applications for Grant B will be considered second, subject to the availability of funds.
In detail, Grant A includes:
– covering half of the 3rd COLOS fee (realized as a conference fee waiver), which involves participation in lectures and practical activities in the core repository, accommodation and catering (four nights, between 13 – 17 September at the hotel in Koło town, where the 3rd COLOS meeting is being held), transfers to and from the core depository and training materials.
The remaining half of the amount, i.e. 310 EUR / 1300 PLN is to be paid by the participant.

HOW TO APPLY
1. Register for the 3rd COLOS via Registration Form.
2. In the section GRANTS FOR EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS check the option As an Early Career Researcher, I apply for the grant and choose the type of grant.
3. In CV/MOTIVATION STATEMENT field write a short bio and explain your motivation for participating in COLOS, e.g. describe how your work or studies relate to sedimentology; what is/was the scope of your MSc/PhD thesis, how do you plan to apply knowledge of core logging in your future career, etc. (maximum 1300 characters).
4. Do not make any payment to us until your application for support is decided.
The decision on the awarding of grants will be made by the Instructors of the 3rd COLOS, together with the Organising Committee, taking into account the applicant’s current and/or future involvement in sedimentology.
